EDITORIAL POLICY

ScoreDino editorial policy

ScoreDino explains test information using named sources, short examples, and visible limits. This editorial policy sets the standards for ScoreDino sources, content review, author attribution, and corrections.

Our standardSource the fact. Label the example.
01

Which sources support test facts?

Scoring scales, test formats, and official practice instructions should link to the relevant testing organization. For SAT information, the primary source is College Board.

College-specific policies should come from the institution and identify the relevant application cycle. A general SAT guide cannot substitute for a current institutional policy.

02

How are examples and advice distinguished from facts?

Original examples are labeled as examples. Hypothetical score comparisons are not presented as real student results, and suggested study routines are not described as validated point-gain programs.

We avoid guaranteed outcomes, universal admission cutoffs, invented testimonials, and claims designed to make students anxious.

03

How do authorship, AI assistance, and review work?

The current revised guides credit Dr. Daniel Mercer and disclose AI assistance. He has reviewed and approved the three current SAT articles. A source-check date identifies when the cited information was checked; it is separate from publication and human-review dates.

A named reviewer or credential belongs on a page only when it is accurate, the person has agreed to the attribution, and that person has reviewed the actual version being published. The same standard applies to structured data.

AI-generated illustrations may explain a concept, but must not be used as evidence that a real person endorsed or reviewed the content. Informational visuals must match the figures and examples in the text.

04

How are changes and corrections handled?

Report the page, questionable statement, and an official source when available. Material corrections should be checked against the source and reflected in the page’s update date.

Scoring changes also require checking the affected calculator. Formatting changes alone should not be presented as a new factual review.
